Stunning oceanfront views from the room and great access to the beach. The rooms lacked AC, which made it stuffy. Noise from other guests was distracting at night.

Incredible views from the cliffside, perfect for sunset-watching by the fire pits. The room, while renovated and comfortable, lacked air conditioning, which felt like a miss for warmer days. Friendly staff enhanced the stay, but the outdated bathroom and low lighting were drawbacks. Loved the proximity to local restaurants and the small pool, but navigating around carts from the cleaning crew in front of my room was inconvenient. For a getaway, it had charm, but some features felt a bit underwhelming for the price.

I truly enjoyed how this hotel is right by the ocean, making it incredibly easy to access the beach for long strolls and breathtaking sunsets, with the lovely fire pit area providing a perfect spot to relax after a day of exploration; plus, the spacious rooms and a cozy coffee corner added to my comfort during the stay.

Cottage Inn By the Sea impressed us with its stunning seaside views and inviting fire pits. The comfortable beds and friendly staff enhanced our stay. Location is an asset, but the incessant seagull noise is a significant drawback. Be cautious in the parking lot; it’s unfortunately a minefield. The oceanfront views are stunning, and the ambiance—complete with chairs and fire pits—is inviting. The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, but it desperately needs renovation. I experienced issues with mold in one unit, and while the staff was responsive, it shouldn't have reached that point. The breakfast situation was misleading, leading to unexpected costs. A pleasant check-in can't erase the need for attention to detail. Improvements are necessary, but it serves a budget-conscious traveler well. A mixed experience, to say the least.

The ocean view from the hotel made every morning feel like a dream! I loved lounging by the beautiful heated pool and soaking in the jacuzzi after a fun day. Every staff member was super friendly and made my stay even more enjoyable!

The property sits just off the beach, allowing easy access to the stunning coastline and lovely fire pits where you can relax while enjoying the view of the Pacific Ocean, and it's only a short stroll into town along the beach or down the main road, making it simple to explore Pismo Beach, including landmarks like the Pismo Pier and Margo Dodd Park, plus the spacious and clean rooms come with convenient features like a microwave and fridge; however, the fire pits could turn on earlier than 7 AM for those early risers.

The room was spacious but faced the busy highway, which made noise a challenge. A fan was requested due to the heat, but it didn't provide much relief. The mattress could have been softer for comfort. We had just one blanket for a king bed, and the lack of additional blankets was disappointing, especially at $300 a night. The room wasn't cleaned thoroughly, and there were no extra towels. the stunning views and the sound of the ocean waves were delightful. The walk to downtown was beautiful, especially at sunset.

Just wanted to share my thoughts on Cottage Inn where I recently stayed. The heating in the room was great, which was a relief on those chilly evenings. We also enjoyed spending time on the terrace, taking in the beautiful views. we were disappointed to find that the free wi-fi in the rooms was a bit spotty at times. One thing I loved was the garden furniture – perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun. On the downside, the room could have used some more free toiletries, as we ran out quickly and had to ask for more. The flat-screen TV was a nice touch for unwinding in the evenings, but I have to say the carpeted floor looked a bit worn and could use a good cleaning. I also wish they had laundry facilities available, as it would have been convenient during our stay. Although I didn't personally use them, I heard they offer a welcome drink upon arrival, which is a nice gesture. As for pet amenities, I didn't see any, so I'm not sure if they are available. Cottage Inn has its charms but could use some improvements in certain areas. It's a lovely place for a getaway, but a few tweaks could make it even better.

The location offered stunning views, ideal for a relaxing getaway with beautiful sunsets. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a clean and comfortable room for a pleasant stay.
The room needed some updating, with worn, out carpeting and difficult, to, operate blinds. Some cleanliness issues were noticeable, like dirty windowsills and spiderwebs in the room.

The lobby staff at Cottage Inn By The Sea was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They truly went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The ocean view from our room was stunning and the gas fire pits were a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the enclosed area overlooking the sea was a great spot to relax. I'd recommend this hotel.

The cozy fireplaces and charming architecture made me feel like I was in a fairytale. Giuseppe's restaurant served the freshest ingredients, and the vibrant wineries nearby were a lovely bonus.
The views were awful; who needs a beautiful ocean view anyway?

Location was fantastic, just a quick walk to town and beautiful views as promised. Loved chilling on the terrace with the fire pits – perfect for cozy evenings.
Only got a few towels and coffees for several days, and almost got charged for bottled water we thought were complimentary. The room needed some maintenance: broken shower handle, flimsy screens, and worn-out pillows.

the location is just gorgeous, with easy beach access and lovely views. we were happy with our room even without paying extra for an ocean view. the fireplace was a nice touch, the beds were super comfy, and the room was very clean. we also appreciated the nice shampoos and the somewhat limited but good breakfast - just a lot of carbs. the pool was a little chilly, but we loved the hot tub and the fire pits in the evening.

Our time at this cozy beachside retreat was simply idyllic. The views from the upstairs window were absolutely breathtaking, and we relished in the soothing sound of the sea at night. The large room comfortably accommodated our party of three, and the reception provided a delightful selection of coffee and tea. Plus, its convenient location just off the main highway made it perfect for late arrivals.
The room lacked air conditioning, and the fireplace, though charming in the winter, made the room uncomfortably warm during our summer stay.
